A Life of Service
Hi, I’m Jared Davis. I'm a husband, father of three incredible boys, U.S. Army veteran, firefighter, and now entrepreneur.
After years of serving in military, fire, and EMS roles, I’ve founded The Vigiles Group to bring my experience into the private sector in a way that truly makes a difference. This company is the next chapter in a life spent protecting others—and a chance to build something greater for my family, my community, and fellow veterans.
Where It All Began
The idea for The Vigiles Group wasn’t born in a boardroom. It came together on patrols in the Army, on fire scenes in the dead of night, and during rope rescues above factory floors.
I served 10 years as a Military Police Officer in the U.S. Army, including roles on personal security details, investigations teams, and special reaction teams. I also spent time as a Combat Medic in the Army Reserves, providing care in battalion aid stations and field environments. When I transitioned into civilian life, I served as both a volunteer and professional firefighter—experiences that exposed me to the gaps that exist in emergency readiness, industrial safety, and on-site protection.
I saw the same issue repeatedly: critical services were fragmented, underfunded, or reactive instead of proactive. The Vigiles Group was created to provide a different kind of answer—comprehensive, professional, and mission-focused.
The Meaning Behind “Vigiles”
The name “Vigiles” is deeply intentional. It refers to the Vigiles Urbani of Ancient Rome, the world’s first organized fire brigade and public safety force. These were firefighters, police officers, and night watchmen who protected the Roman Empire long before modern emergency services existed.
They patrolled the streets, fought fires, responded to civil unrest, and kept the peace. They were the original multi-discipline responders, whose legacy is the foundation for what we aim to build.
Like ancient Vigiles, our mission is rooted in vigilance, service, and readiness. We’re here to stand watch and respond when it matters most.

Launching Soon: Our Initial Services
The Vigiles Group will soon launch in the Greater Houston area with a focused lineup of high-demand safety and emergency services. Our starting offerings will include:
Security Services: Armed and unarmed officers for patrols, events, businesses, industrial facilities, and HOAs
Training & Certification: CPR, Stop the Bleed, trauma response, and safety courses for schools, churches, and the public
Notary & Background Services: Mobile notary work, background screening, and fingerprinting
Private Investigations: Discreet, licensed investigations for civil and business needs
Rescue & Fire Standby (Coming Soon): Industrial rescue services, confined space standby, fire watch, and emergency planning
These services are only the beginning. Our mission is to provide professional, veteran-led support to clients who need reliability, readiness, and real-world expertise.
Where We’re Going
One-Year Vision
Within the next year, we plan to:
Complete our official launch and begin serving clients in the Greater Houston region
Hire part-time and full-time team members, especially fellow veterans
Secure long-term security contracts with industrial sites and communities
Launch our first industrial rescue standby unit
Offer regular community safety and emergency training events
Acquire a second vehicle and expand our gear and equipment capabilities
Five-Year Vision
In five years, The Vigiles Group will be a comprehensive emergency and safety services provider. Our goals include:
Opening a headquarters with office space, training classrooms, and logistics bays
Offering private fire services to underserved and rural communities
Operating licensed EMS and interfacility transport services
Deploying rapid-response disaster relief teams for floods, fires, and hurricanes
Becoming a certified training academy for veterans and aspiring responders
Partnering with government and private clients to deliver full-spectrum safety solutions
Why This Matters
We don’t just want to fill a gap—we want to raise the bar.
From underserved rural towns to major industrial sites, from house of worship safety training to real-time emergency response, we want to protect people, property, and livelihoods. More than anything, we want to create stable, honorable careers for veterans, first responders, and others who share a heart for service.
We believe that safety shouldn’t be an afterthought. It should be proactive, professional, and deeply rooted in the community.
Final Thoughts
Starting this business hasn’t been easy. I’m bootstrapping from the ground up, rebuilding credit, applying for grants and microloans, and doing everything I can to make this dream real—for my family, fellow veterans, and the people we’ll serve.
The Vigiles Group is preparing to launch with purpose and passion. We’re veteran-owned, service-minded, and mission-ready. And we can’t wait to serve.
Thank you for being part of this journey.
Veteran-Owned. Service-Minded. Mission-Ready.
